South African Red Cross Society - Western Cape Regional Office

We are a non-government (NGO), non-profit organisation (NPO). We empower communities to cope in times of natural or man-made disasters by providing emergency health and welfare relief services. We assist children, youth and adults through our disaster relief and poverty alleviation programmes. Our activities include home-based care and home-aiders programmes, first aid training, orphans and vulnerable children and youth programmes. We promote their rights and work to address the health, social and stigma issues associated with HIV and AIDS with a focus on psycho-social, economic support and strengthening of the care network. We also visit the homes of orphans and vulnerable children to ensure that they are living in a safe environment and when necessary we will refer them to the necessary departments for assistance. We are open from 08:30 to 16:30, Monday to Friday. On Saturday we are open between 08:30 and 16:00. Our services are free of charge.
